Azenta Life Sciences has unveiled the Ziath RITrack ‘CTag Pack’, a convenient solution for RFID tagging of labware in cryogenic storage facilities. This innovative technology enables the secure tracking of up to 96 individual coded tubes in a rack using RFID/NFC technology. The RITrack tags can store data securely even in vapour phase liquid nitrogen, eliminating data loss even after 10,000 freeze/thaw cycles. The ‘CTag Pack’ includes an easy-to-use tool for inserting tags into SBS format racks and 12 RITrack tags, providing an affordable method for converting existing labware to work with the RITrack rack reader.

With the RITrack tags, reading cryogenic racks is now as simple as using a smartphone equipped with the RITrack App to scan the rack and view all available tubes. This advancement eliminates the need to bring cold racks back to the lab for reading, offering a convenient and efficient solution for data readback from stored samples.
