Cleaning machine specialist Tennant Company has signed an exclusive agreement with autonomous technology company Brain Corp to develop the next generation of robots in the floor cleaning industry. The partnership between the two companies aims to accelerate the development and adoption of AI-enabled autonomous navigation technology in robotic cleaning machines. This collaboration is expected to improve customer return on investment and make robotic cleaning more accessible to a wider range of customers.

Tennant Company president and CEO, Dave Huml, expressed excitement about expanding the partnership and leading the disruption that AI-enabled robotic technology will bring to the industry. In the second quarter of 2024, Tennant will launch the X4 ROVR, its first purpose-built Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR), designed for operation in smaller spaces. The robot will be equipped with Brain Corp’s next-generation navigation software and hardware suite, exclusively available on Tennant machines for floor care applications.

As part of the agreement, Tennant has made a $32 million investment in Brain Corp. The long-standing partnership between the two companies has already resulted in the successful launch of several autonomous cleaning machines. By combining cleaning intelligence and automation, Tennant and Brain Corp aim to drive the adoption of robotic cleaning technology in new segments of the market.
